suggestions for which toyota to import from japan???
|

Hey all,
looking for some different suggestions of cars to import from japan as a 'private import' since i will be living there for 2 years.. looking for a) nice car to keep, or b) car with good resale value here.
also figure i may as well get something different (ie not another R34 GTR ).
thoughts so far:
Caldina GT4 ST246, 3SGTE
Crown 4WD, UZ173 I-FOUR, 1UZ
Crown 4WD Estate/Athlete, JZS171W, JZS173W, JZS175W, 1JZGE
suggestions? (preferably 4WD and turbo )
Cya, Stewart

LOL i wish i could.. i think there's some sort of limit for personal imports
the Skyline is not a good choice. why? you can import them under SEVS anyway, and how many wankers have them now? they are pretty common...
that Altezza wagon looks nice too mmmm 2JZ...
keep em coming

I always wanted a Caldina, but it isn't on SEVs so there is no way I could get it, you living there for 2 years, well that's just not fair!
The Altezza AS200 isn't a bad option either. Seen a few of them for sale in Australia actually...
Or you could go the tried and true method of a JZA80 TT, but it's not 4WD, but they are damn nice!

The MIGHTY Toyota Century V12 - there are only around 600 of these cars & engines produced annually, making it more exclusive than Lamborghini's ! ! !

That altezza sure looks the goods. Ultimate toyota wagon i think.
U cant go past the Nissan Stagea though when it comes to performance wagons. But fuk nissan LOL! The Altezza looks better though.
These levins are quite damn cool too (by the looks of things i think u want sumthing a bit more modern than the AE111)

You're over there for two years - yes ?????
Easy, bring back two cars - one every 12 months - as per the private import rules. Don't forget to get someone to take photo's of you in front of the car at signposts around the country to help prove you have owned it for 12 months.
I like the Aristo 2JZ-GTE 4WD and the Windom is nice as well, but if you want a car that will be easier to modify and sell down the track, get a ST245 or ST215 Caldina, and yes, I would buy it too !

Oh and before I forget, if you get the Century V12 with the fold down front seat back rest that becomes a rear seat footrest, make sure you also get a nubile and flexible 'hand' maiden who can stick her head through from the front seat and give you a mobile blow as you pimp dem mean streetz, respect and represent bro......

thanks for the replies fellas..
Levin? what a crap car to import .. seriously tho, it's just a pimped up corolla and nothing special that you could not build here..
and FWD is NOT my thing...
Rob, i saw a nice TE27 there for sale... AUD$15,000. i think i'd find it hard to get a buyer at over 20K for a TE27, regardless of condition... and i could build one here anyway
at least in japan they respect old cars by paying high prices
yeah, i probably won't be able to afford the first car until my second payment there, so i'm wondering if i can have two cars concurrently?.. still haev to ring DOTARS stoopid work hours..
LOL, if i could find a century for sale at a half reasonable price... i'll snap it up
, if i go back for another year, who knows... i have a "certificate of eligibility" for a 3 year "Professor" visa sweeeet...
hmmm, maybe a 1UZ caldina? best of both worlds?

HORRY FARKINGU SHITTE
THIS CAR IS HORN!

This car is the EXACT car i would design (at least on the inside). I'd make the outside look much more like the celsiors though.

Ross, good point... i want a snow capable 4WD wagon... the merc wagons just don't appeal to me (esp. after driving a 320E for a while, good but not great)
hmm, 4WD corolla? Allex?
