I don't understand how the Phillips Curve work... Does anyone have a firm understanding how it works?

OK, I have searched the Web but I want it simple... Not the whole equation and statatistical information...

The Phillips Curve is the inverse relationship between unemployment and inflation, the same as any inverse relationship (the most famous one being price + demand). What exactly don't you understand about it? Surely your textbook would be able to explain it better than we can on here....
