icon4.gif  Info about 1uz-fe Tue, 03 May 2005 02:55 Go to next message
Hey im new to the forum, this is my first post.

I was just wondering if anyone can give me some info on the 1uz-fe.
Ive always known what these motors were, but not until recently did i realise the potential that they have.

I allready know all the basic things like stock power output, and things about the motor, but i was interested in the following...

1. Peak power without pulling the engine apart (NA)
2. Peak power without pulling the engine apart (turbo)
3. Peak power without touching the bottom end (turbo)
4. Peak revs standard
5. Peak revs with upgrades (what upgrades are involved, cams etc.)
6. How much does the engine weigh?
7. Would you reccomend this motor over a 2jz-gte?

Thanks for your time.
I hope to learn a lot from this forum.

P.S. Sorry for not doing a search, i am a newbie Embarassed .

Limits are always a bit like asking how long is a piece of string...too many variable to answer with any accuracy.

To give you an idea though my turbo 1UZ is internally stock and to date has laid down 270rwkw on 10psi. Currently running 13psi but no dyno result at that boost

1. ITB's, Extractors, aftermarket ECU, will net you about 240-250rwhp. (I presume you don't mean cams)
2. NFI
3. For longetivity, probably 600-800hp on a good tune. for hp hero, or you don't car, well over 1000hp.
4. Standard ecu, rev cut 6500, power drops off after 5500 on stock cams
5. Around 9-10k with decent valvetrain, but upgrade the sump before you race the car, they have a habit of oil starvation with lots of corner g's
6. About the 175kg mark.
7. Depends what you want.

Do you actually even have the EH ute you plan to put this into?

Seriously dude, I note you are 17 and it shows. Do a search, potter about the multitude links that have been provided, ring an engine importer near you for a realistic halfcut price and come back and ask the pertinent questions when you are clued up. Smile

Actually, i have 4 of them.
I know it wont be cheap, but i have most of the parts.

Considering i can do everything myself, and i have most of the parts, i think to say $10,000+ is a bit over the top.

But sure i see that it wouldnt be cheap.
Even though i have everything to do it, i can still see it costing a good $5,000 or more.

It's common knowledge that an engine conversion costs the price of a half cut plus a tank of fuel. So you should be fine wiht your $5k budget.

With 5K, you'd be best buying a 2JZGTE. At least that way you'll lose less when you sell your incomplete project.
