Yeah - unless your diff centre and driveshafts are TRUK-TUFF it's a road to breakage, and it's often quite a short road ! A guy at work runs a welded diff in his speedway car, and He's gone paddock-side twice to practice, and twice He's broken axle drive-shafts. He hasn't broken one on-track yet though - probably because the manicured clay has more consistent grip. (less shock)
Ya get that though.

when you turn, the rear wheels travel different lengths, the inside wheel travels less that the outside...
what a locker does is it makes them both travel the same speed, meaning one wheel has to slip to let the other catch up, meaning your inside wheel slips (screeches) and makes a hell of a racet when your doing sharp turns, and the wheels wont let you turn at all unless one of them slips, hence parkings a mofo, and it fucks your tyres up.... badly...
lsd does the same shit as locker but only when one wheel slips, LSD is limited slip diff, locker is NO slip diff.

the thing is that it isnt an LSD (limited slip differential). LSD's lock when you put drive into them. the rear wheels are NOT turning together at all times, only when it is most benefitial.
when you weld a diff they constantly turn together meaning that when you are doing tight turns they have to do the same turning circle.
imagine you were driving in a circle (not spinning wheels). if the wheels are rotating separately (as in an LSD or open diff) they are travelling in 2 different diameter circles (ie. the wheel on the inside of the circle traces a shorter path than wheel on outside).
when you have a welded diff in the same situation the 2 wheels are forced to make the same diameter circle, which unfortunately has to be the bigger circle (chain only as strong as weakest link idea)
basically when the diff is welded, when turning, BOTH of the wheels have to trace the path of the bigger diameter circle. meaning that your turning circle is increased (you cant do tight turns).
well, thats how i try to explain it. hopefully you can understand.

if only one wheel turns at a time in non-lsd car, does that mean when u turn left or right theres a difference?
so like in my celica, the front right wheel turns... if i do a left corner or a right corner, there should be a difference in performance ya?

no it depends on the load on the wheel because both wheels will spin but they wont spin at the same speed when cornering or dooing burnouts or wateva

usually the INSIDE wheel slips when turning, and the rear end sometimes sorta bounces as this is happening. welded diffs are shit. not only to they damage the back tyres, but usually wear the fronts quicker too, aswell as damaging axles as mentioned.
they are illegal for a reason, they are pretty nasty in the wet. well nasty or fun depends how you look at it

A tip from someone who consistently broke axles and had the axles remains stuck in the diff center...
Don't do it.
Just wait a bit and get a lsd.
