3D animation Fri, 06 May 2005 05:12 Go to next message
Hey everyone,
Just throwing this up here cos I think you might get a kick out of it. This is a project that I did for fun. I used a WRX because I had easy access to one and I needed it for a fair while. I know I'll cop some flack for not using an 86 or Supra but I couldn't get hold of one.
Check out the link, it's worth downloading, I promise.

Looks good... I haven't used lightwave either... I use 3ds max for my uni projects... btw does anyone know where I can get a copy of the standard materials library maps for max? My dodgy copy of max didn't come with ANY materials and it makes shit awefully difficult.

Also, swift3d version 3 plugins for max or lightwave, anyone?

You should get one of these online folios if you're looking for work... www.coroflot.com

Probably about 6 months
Had to story board every scene to fit to the music.
I love that song. The first time I heard it I thought it would fit perfectly in a car race scene.
Thanks for checking it out.

Hehe, well I haven't checked out the site yet (cus I'm burning a DVD atm and my PC is crap slow and don't want it to crash and ruin the burn), but I've made a dececent enuf Trueno and FD3S RX-7.

I'll post up pic if ya want and can prolly give ya the file too if need be (cus I made them years ago and haven't touched them since).

Ok here's some pics I just found of the models.

(Click on the images to open full sized version)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/Beserker99/Random/th_D3Trueno4.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/Beserker99/Random/th_D3RX7.jpg

As ya can se they're pretty rough. I really hate texuring so the Trueno was just mapped with a simple texture that I made then UV mapped on, and the RX7 was just textured with a metal material and no UV mapping (which I usually prefer to do, but was to lazy to do it).

Also the Trueno is a low polygon model I made to use in that "Racer" free car sim back in the day, so I spent a good month working on it starting as a high poly then down grading. Where the RX7 was an assignment I did for tafe, it was done in 2 night to make the submission deadline. It has good form, but lacks any details.

Anyway, that's the end of my rantin O_o

If you knew me at all you would know that it would be a cold dark day in hell before I would put techno into one of my animations. Heavy metal soothes the soul:) \,,/,

Should have a cressida star in your next video.

You'd be my hero then.

Well, maybe not hero, but... you'd be.... cool, and stuff.

If anything, i'll model my twinky next.
I'll make it so low it'll throw sparks.

No offence to the cressida star.
