Apparently they mess with the camera angles, and use footage of a longer street "spliced in" to make it look like a long street. As you can see on the map, it's a dicky little subourbon court. A mate's cousin knows someone who lives there, and the production company pays their council rates, supplies 24/7 security and pays a "nice" retainer to the residents for their inconvenience. They just stop shooting mid-scene if the residents wanna go outside, go for a drive etc. Sweet eh?
Like what I did there? as in suBourbon and coke?

Yeah a fat burnout up the road would be great. I remember years ago back in the old days seeing burnouts up the road. Well I don't remember it when they were on prime time but when they had old episodes on in the middle of the day when I was at uni.
Thanks for all the response too.

Everyone's speaking on doing burnouts there, well
I was at the pub having dinner last night, and some yokel slob yells out (neighbours was on the TV) "Owwwww,, Wonder if they can see me burnout from the yes'dy"
Mind you, this guy was about mid 30's.
Some people.

That's unpossible.
At night the street is cordoned off and there are security guards 24/7. They will also tell you move along if they are shooting outside and you decide to linger.
I used to live around the corner, but things may have changed in the last 10 years.....

thats nuts! ohwell i supose they have to protect neighbours, cant beleive its been on for 20yrs!

Well I just went cruzing up Ramsay Street yesterday...ha ha ha
It was really a big disappointment! Yes even worse than I thought. I thought they would have at least had nice gardens etc but it just looked like hicksville. I thought it would have been all nice for TV but oh well. When we turned up the Neighbours bus was there with about a billion English tourists going "this is totally ace". Was funny.
And stradlater....there was a nice fresh burnout almost the length of the street. Single spinner though and must have been driving a Suzuki by the width of the black mark.
