Has anyone played "Street Legal", if your a fan of the old street rod series you will love this

u can buy a car and go around a city dragging people for money and u can do your car up etc, its like a 3D version of the street rod series but with newer cars FWD RWD and 4WD, 4cyl V6 V8 and V10 engines to play with, turbos S/C and nitrous too.

its not released in aust, and its been released under activisions budget label in USA, but i managed to get a "special" copy of it off my grandma who is a 1337 haXX0r.

if u can find it i suggest you check it out.

K, i found street legal. it is travelling through the phone lines as we speak. Razz Razz

Also, i see that there are 2 patches out for it. Funny enough, named patch1 and patch2.

do i have to d/l both patches, or the later patch2 should be ok?

If you like car sims, grab F1-2002 and get the GTR2002 mod for it.
GTR2002 is free BTW, even though its about a 250Mb download.
Its is just AWESOME. LFS doesnt come close, and neither does anything else for realisim.

Its the first car sim ive come across where you can actually feel and hear the power in the car and control it (with practice).
Im hooked on it now Wink

Hmm.. its a nice game.. i want the full version..
however.. i dislike the automatic countersteer i see happening when i drift the corners.. perhaps the only flaw is the drifting dynamic.. otherwise a very nice game

once i get my setup going good ill try and drift it properly and get a screenie... providing the counter-countersteer doesnt throw it off the road. LOL

I was on about LFS..
It still needs some work.. like mebbe if they counter-countersteer was taken out.. you would be able to slide around corners properly.. LOL

im gonna go look for GTR2002 etc now..
personally, my favourite for a while was Colin McRae Rally 2,
On the italy stage.. Smile
you can only do a partial drift though.. there are no good games where you can pull a proper drift.. Sad not even the Initial D game on playstation.. but thats only because the game sucked.

Your right... SimBin are the PPL that made GTR2002.
But the URL is:
http://www.simmods.com/

You can also download it at places like fileplanet.com, etc.

Ooops.

You can in GTR2002... but its very hard to do, as it should be in real life. Although, set up the car right, and it could be a lot easier.

Nope.. all my assists are off..

My setup for it should work very nicely..

if you hit the corner at drifting speeds.. watch the wheel carefully.. even with the assist off, i turn into, and then out of the corner, and it turns against me too early so the car only slides a second or 2 before going off the side of the track..

and im telling it where to steer too.. i dont want it to steer against me..

LOL.. ive not got the credits for the turbo yet.. Sad
ill keep playing it.. till it annoys me too much..

GTR2002 i heard is a fairly realistic drift, providing your setup well.
shouldnt be a problem.

well it doesn't steer against me at all....
are you trying to drift the FWD gti?
cos if you are you gonna need some handbrake to it sideways

Re: Live For Speed game Mon, 23 December 2002 01:51 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Yeah, i know the only way to drift an FF type car is to use the handbrake.. even so, i watch the wheel and the guy compensates my turn by turning against me before the corners exit, which increases the exit speed and the front wheels lose traction...
then i go bye bye.

*shrug* i'll figure out how to get around it soon.. just is annoying.

ill put up a few pics of the drifts that i did pull last night, fairly tight ones too.. exit speed was pretty good.. barely stayed on the track. Smile

Other than that.. i cant see any steering assist in LFS...
*shrug*

Cheers

(Sorry.. just read over that and realised what i said was wrong.. handbraking isnt the only way of drifting an FF car.. weight transfer also works, as does gravelling.)

Another addition..
Be careful if your downloading F1 2002 from Kazaa, the file that is called F1 2002 - F1 2002.exe is actually a self extracting copy of Max Payne.. so download that one if you want max payne..

The Class release of GP 4 i believe is actually F1 2002.
Also.. don't get any cracks off kazaa for them.. the one i got was a virus.. i would go with gamecopyworld.com or gameburnworld.com personally.. no chance of virii there.
Smile

Problem Solved. Wed, 25 December 2002 16:52 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Its easy to fix mind you..

Get used to using your mouse to steer, its faster, better, and if you tone down your brakes you can use the buttons to accellerate and brake. Smile

the only other way to counter it is to own a wheel.

Cheers

Make sure you also get the V1.1 physics patch and the GTR2002 Telemetry add on.

Grr... ive been trying to get a low 1:30s lap of Magny-Cours.
Best ive done is 1.35.991.

Look at the online world ranking telemetry stuff here.

My stats so far.
