Its a bloody pain.

I'm cutting corners in doing the bodywork as it is and its still taking for bloody ever.

Its been sitting in dad's shed for a lot longer then I had hoped - but still thats given the engine bay and doors a good chance to settle.

Colour is uhmm

Can't remember now... its not Delft

Its a 1989 Toyota Metallic Blue.

I will chase up the actual name if you like...

It goes from almost purple in the dark to the most brilliant metallic blue out in the light. I love it

OK, the colour is Tarwine blue... (metallic)

http://www.rollaclub.com/gallery/members/grimwolge/bluebeast/blue_beast_bay02.jpg

I'm not sure exactly what model it came out on, but it is a 1989 group2? Toyota colour.

From memory its about ~$50 per litre...

And I have my parts car now Smile yay !

http://www.rollaclub.com/gallery/public_upload/nickspartske70.jpg

Its like a fine swiss cheese ! Full of holes...

But being a CSX, I will be grabbing the blue velour interior *drool*, CSX Mags and low KM 4K-C. The previous owner beat me to the CSX Instrument cluster with tacho Very Happy hehe

That should make my little Tarwine blue beast a little more comfy.

I will eventually find some SSR Mesh rims or maybe even Volk TE37's for that car, the CSX mags are just a stop gap till I recover my finances (damn credit card!)

The photos do it zero justice...

In the dark or shadows, the paint turns dark blue / purple

but out in the sunlight it goes the most electric blue...

Thanks Smile

Hoping to have it finished by August

heehee... can't beat the "spray can matt black" finish on my car! Razz Its so quality that the bonnet is flaking off already!

As for the competitive edge shinny - no chance! Razz

grimwolge - why dont you get the instrument cluster from an AE71? they are all tacho dash. In fact if you dont have one local i know a certain place here in sydney with at least 10 to spare!
Heck i even found a TE72 sedan and pinched the dash, rear seats, door trims and instrument cluster on saturday down at the wreckers - hence the new "chocolate pimpin brown" look. The dials are a little different, but with some modifications will be made to fit!

I did all the prep work pre-painting of the blue one, all Nick did was rub it down Razz

here is a shot of after I got the crossmember cleaned up and back in

http://www.rollaclub.com/gallery/public_upload/ke70crossmemberin.JPG

Also put in some new struts and bought some new discs because the origional ones were too far undersized to be machine..
