with a turbo capable of flowing that much air you should make quite decent boost from 3000 rpm on the 2jz

The target requires about 550 engine hp (based on 30% drivetrain loss).

Look toward a GT30 rated at this approx power. You should be able tomake the boost at target RPM relatively easily with a 0.82 turbine.

Ultimately the decision is yours, so continue to research whatever info you can find.

A bloke in Newcastle makes that sort of power out of a Garret GT35-R, should look into that.

0.70 front cover with a 52mm front wheel. no bigger. rear housing say 0.82 with a p trim exhaust wheel.

GT30 would be ideal. the power you are after is as mush as you will make with factory cam shafts on your average dyno. they run out of lift which many 1j owners are finding.

if you are running a manual box that figure should be easy.

but also factor in a ECU, injectors waste gate, manifold and the little things like oil and water lines fuel rail. it adds up fast.
