i am towing 1JZ747 down for shane behind the big 100 series land cruiser.

i started another thread for this event before. i think captain chaos is taking the green beast down now that sport compact rules have made a cosy little spot for commodores and soarers.

should be good

nothing since the big turbo went on. its just easier to trailor it down in the event that something breaks its easier and cheaper than having to get a tow truck back to newcastle. not to mention its easier to have the car ready the day before instead of driving it down and changing tyres, changing fuel and since its running in the 11's he has to wear a 5 point harness to comply with andra rules and if he was to get pulled over wearing it he would be in the shit with the cops.

I went, it was AWESOME!

Saw 1JZ-747 do a 10.7sec et!

just missed out on seeing an RX-7 smash into a million pieces, slamming into the opposing lanes' concrete barrier at around 130mph i think they said

he was ok tho Cool

excellent day out, enjoyed myself a lot Smile

GO SHANE AND THE ALMIGHTY CRESSIDA! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

edit: not to mention the 2JZ-GTE powered corolla station wagon that i think ran insanely fast

those rotaries are too loud Sad my ears were hurting after this monster supercharged rotary did its burnout

I went and had fun,... and problems, infact the corolla was uncharacteristically unreliable.

1st run - car crept through the lights (clutch was dragging and not in the racing sense), couldn't change gears, missed second missed third, went through for 13.4 @106mph in 3rd. So we took it to the pits and flushed the hydraulic system, greased the master and slave cylinders.

2nd - 12.2 poor launch

Eliminations - got through a few rounds and then redlighted out.

Damage diagnosis - the 1st - 2nd gear selector is broked Sad

No worries - 2 x spare W58's to pilfer for parts.

Good to catch up with the likes of captain chaos and 1JZ 747 and watch them into the finals and take some trophies Very Happy

My mates tough Datsun 1200 2 door sedan cut an 11.35 @ 116 and nearly had the 2JZ powered KE70 wagon. Not bad for a non-intercooled SR20..

Oh BTW - it was Archie Kajewski's Chev Beretta that smacked the wall. I hope that he is well (I imagine that he was hurt).

and a chance to fit a new clutch, currently residing in Canberra Razz

The wall seems to be a force too strong to resist for the top running rotors! First Joe, now Archie.... I wonder when we'll next see a 6 sec pass? Confused

i was talking to your mate in that 1200 datto jason after the event. it sounded unlike any sr20 i've ever heard!. it was a quick little beast as well. Full credit to him for doing something a little different.
watching the video of my finals run, i actually broke out by 8 one-thousands of a second.... an amount too small to comprehend into a physical distance.
