turbo 18rg or 1g in hilux

hi i have a rn41 2wd hilux with a blown up 18rg it did a big end bering shit itself what would be the go rebuild and turbo it or put a 1g in does any one have an idear if you have to upgrand brakes with a 1g and how hard it is to do i have head you can get a 18rg turbo going just a hard as a 1g so i dont no which way to go ok thanks

You will find it hard to get parts for a 18RG.
Get and fit a 1G-GZE, its great for grunt down low and that is a Hilux's forte .....

yeah the 18rg sounds sweet how hard would it be to turbo but probly not as hard as fiting a 1g

With the correct engine brackets and new 18R rubber mounts, my GZE motor bolted onto my existing crossmember, no cutting, welding, custom brackets etc.
That has to be easier than hanging a snail off an 18RG.....

so u can bolt a supercharged 1g straight in can i use the same gearbox with that

go the turbo rg. i can tell you that it is alot harder but it hink in the end it should be alot better then a 1g

S'funny that, it was my own post actually, so I plagarised myself......go figure !
And you will need a W55/57/58 gearbox and G series bellhousing to go with the 1G engine, the W50 from the 18RG will not bolt up.
