Cutch point right at the top

Hi guys
In my KE corolla, the friction point is right at the top. It's a 5 puck brass button (about 2 yrs old) and i don't treat it too harshly.
The clutch resevoir was leaking badly, so i figured this was the porblem, went to the wreckers and got a new one and replaced it - it feels slightly better (pressure wise) but the friction point is still up top.
Does this mean have to take the geabox off the engine and tighten the thrust carrier bearing or something?
surely my clutch/pressure plate is not THAT worn

you can adjust it,
where the rod from clutch cylinder to pedal attatches, its threaded with a lock nut, wind that rod out a bit to make it longer, and your friction point will go down.
