Yes it's possible - how much do you want to spend? You'll have to run 30-35 series tyres to keep your rolling diameter too.

You'll have no problem on the back as long as their not to wide.... with the front u'll have to measure because it may hit the guards.... But i think u may just be able to get them in there.... Good luck...

imho, old school cars look tougher when they have a bit of rubber on the wheels. 16's are as big as i'd ever go on a TA22.

maybe possible with the correct profile tyres to maintain the same diameter to 10%, also 18's will be quite a wide rim like 8 or 9 inch so they may be too wide, unless you mismatch width for front and rears but even 7 inch is quite big for fronts on a celica id say.

you would be buying liqourice strap tyres that cost more. and they handle differently being so thin. and you cannot increase your track more than 26mm so you would be looking for a very exact set of wheels especially in 18's. probably a negative offset if they are quite wide - ie deep dish.

track and diameter are for qld, check for other states if applicable.

and most likely you will have to roll the front guards maybe rears to get clearance.

Do it! then get airbag suspension and have it sitting on the deck when you park it Very Happy I think 17's are the perfect size,as jerri and devious's cars show.... I think the 18s may make it sit a bit high aswell but id love to see it done..good luck!

I think 17's are the right size wheels for this car.... Thats what i've got on mine and im very happy with them.. cause i was also thinking of going for the 18's, but maybe a little too big..

i just bought a 77 ra23, my advice is to look in members rides and as many photos as you can.. after seing a few youll realise big wheels dont suit these cars. go and old school wheel and in a 14" with decent rubber than lower it... thats where its at!

i dont think the handeling would be very good either, but could be wrong

It would be very illegal in South Aus.
We cannot go more than 2" bigger than original factory rim size.

Check with the NSW RTA, they might have a similar rule.

bigger than 15 inch wheels on a ta22 are illegal in all states unless you engineer them.

15 inch superlights with dish = legal + they look so damn hot Smile

also gives space for the pug/hilux caliper brake upgrade ..

thats what should be done Wink
