1st of all sorry if this thread is in the wrong section....
new to the forums lol Embarassed

hey,

just wondering if anyone knew a spot in the MA70 supras where you can mount 6" splits without making any custom mounts for them....

look in every possible spot and their is either wiring or not enough door or something stopping putting them in....

just after if anyone has done an install in one and if you know if there is anywhere possible to cut a hole for 6" split without making any custom mounts of boxes..

any feedback will be much appreciated

cheers

i had to use MDF spacer rings to fit 6 inch splits in the doors of my AE86, might have to consider that.

make sure you dont put them somewhere your window winder will hit them (if you have manual windows)

the only place we can see of is in the walls on the sides of the back seats...but i think that would involve mounts...

would spacers do the job there you think??
thnx for the reply as well dude

should do, from memory i

marked where i wanted the speakerss on the surface of the door skins,

took door skins out,

cut holes to suit the spacer hole,

ran no more gaps around the spacer,

stuck them over the hole then screwed them to the skins (from behind, so the screws fastened into the spacers)

cant see why it owuld be any different for your planned place, if space isnt an issue you could just put fairly thin MDF behing the wall, then they wouldnt stick out, a mate of mine had speakers screwed just to the thin wood in his "rear walls" and he didn't have any prolems, i think this is a fairly common way to do it.
