Well, another auto MA61 has been converted to manual. If toymods have their way, by 2008 there won't be a single auto MA61 left in Australia... as it should be.
A rough transcript of the day is as follows:
=================
9:30am
Car goes over the pit.
9:31am
Glen: <slip, CRUNCH!> "fucking shitty fuck fuck ouch FUCK!" *bleed bleed bleed* "MEDIC!"
9:32am
Glen: <More cursing> <trails blood to the first aid kit>
9:40am
Back to the pitt
9:45am
Mechanic puppeh: <Attacks everything. Several bolts are consumed, along with a large portion of rags. Mechanic puppeh attempts to drink auto transmition fluid, but is restrained>
9:48am
Glen: <slip! crash! Tool falls into pit> "Fek"
9:53am
Glen: <CRUNCH. More blood, cursing & bandaging ensues> "Fek"
10:38am
Mechanic puppeh: <attacks everything... again. Successfullly knocks several tools into the pitt. Licks glen in the eye. Jumps on Damz's face while removing exhaust. Goes spastic attacking a drink bottle>
11:05am
Glen: "Shite" <more tools fall into pit, landing in oil catch tray at the bottom of the pit>
11:06am
Me: <winges and bitches about all the mess>
Tool is retrieved. Oil catch tray is moved out of pit.
11:07am
Mechanic Puppeh successfully drinks from oil catch tray.
11:08am
Oil catch tray is moved again. Mechanic Puppeh lies down and stops attacking things.
12:30pm
Gearbox nearly crushes Glen. WST-017 is employed.
1:15pm
Glen: "I'm an unco dong" <Drops tool in pit & injures himself simultaneously>
Me: <more winging and complaining about shit flying everywhere>
2:00pm
Food time. Oporto's, grit & oil are consumed in roughly equal portions.
Mechanic puppeh: <Steals anyone's food who isn't watching. Looks on table for more food to steal. finds oil catch tray full of ATF. Drinks ATF>
2:05pm
Back to work.
Mechanic puppeh: <looks queezy & lies down in the corner>
2:35pm
Gearbox removed & lifted out of pit.
Mechanic Puppeh: <assists by chewing on feet & licking the faces of people in the pit>
2:36pm
Mechanic Puppeh: <goes off to sulk in the corner. Steals glens hat along the way>
3:45pm
WST-030 created. Mechanic puppeh is impressed.
4:30pm
Manual gearbox is moved into position, with extensive use of WST-017. Mechanic puppeh continues to assist.
5:05pm
Glen: "Where the fuck's my hat? SON OF A BITCH!"
Mechanic puppeh: <runs away from glen, carrying hat>
5:30pm
New gearbox is fitted
Glen: <drops tools in pit>
Me: <slips over in oily pit. Joins tool at the bottom of pit>
Glen: <injures himself>
6:30pm
Exhaust is fitted
Damz: <under rear of car, hooking up exhaust> "Argh! Someone help me... AAAARRRGH!"
Mechanic puppeh: <attempts to chew off Damz's nose>
7:00pm
Me: <Gleefully hacks holes in Damz's floorpan>
Gearbox now fits properly.
Glen: <drops tools in pit>
8:00pm
Gearbox topped up with fresh oil. Shifter fitted.
Mechanic puppeh: <Inspects fresh manual tramsmition oil. Approves. Begins drinking>
8:25pm
Car won't start.
Glen: <Removes random pieces of loom. Joins random wires together>
8:30pm
Car starts
Glen: <gloats>
Mechanic puppeh: <attacks glen while he's at face-level in pit>
9:00pm
Damz: <drives off into the sunset>
Glen can post the pics of the day up when he gets off his arse. I only have one of Mechanic puppeh.

"We" is a term used loosely.
WST-030 Auto Flex Plate Remover
Use of the handle from a stock trolley, worked a treat.
WST-017 at work.

Can't wait for the install instructions on the pedals - or were they included ?
Seems quite familiar overall except for the dog and the timeframe.

You forget Tim (ZZT231). From what I have gathered he is never getting rid of the auto.
|
Well that is true... I wonder if I can make an auto shift harder and quicker
Anyway with the W58 did you have to change the yoke and intermidate shaft?
