Honest Toyota Genuine Parts Dealers - Do They Exist?

Well I just got back from the Pirates at Scarborough Toyota who tried to tell me that a Full Engine Gasket set (04112-42023) costs $650.
HAH! Yeah Right try that on someone who DOESNT have the Internet.
(FYI - Theyre about $420AUD average online. Im getting it to be ready for a top end rebuild in a month or so)
Who should I be going to for a good price whos not a Shark that sees every person that walks in the door as a potential sucker?
Perth if possible.

I'd probably suggest go to a mechanic you know and get them to source the parts for u.
The guys @ Tory Toyota Albion Park Parts department are pretty cool. The prices are reasonable for genuine parts and dont mind spending time looking for the parts u need. I shold quote that number and see what the guys @ tory can do it for.

You'll find $650 is the RRP.
So any chump that walks off the street and gets it, pays that.
Every Toyota dealer SHOULD give you that figure.
Some will give you a lower price depending on what they think you will pay.
$420 will be closer to trade.
Find a friend with a trade account at Repco or the like, and order it through that.

people have to realise hold a part in storage for 20 years isnt cheap, and re manufacturing a part isnt cheap, and there is soooo many pricing levels at toyota and unforunately retail chumps are at the top, toyota has always been good to me... i guess spending $4000 month might have some to do with that

Yeah there are some... Well with my dealership because of the ZZT231, SA63 and especially the MA61 I got a customer account
And I get trade for all my (MA61) parts and enquiries. But they know that they are my last resort as most of the parts are now classifed "F" meaning no longer stored or produced
Oh well... That is what the American part numbers are for and the US Parts Bin with contacts in America
Cheers.
