FS: Parts from a 140bhp 18RG-U Sun, 15 May 2005 06:19 Go to next message
I originally bought this motor back in 2001 from a Sydney based rally team that was over for the rally at Mt.Crawford Forest. The 18RG-U was rebuilt 5000km's ago and has Twin 45mm Webbers, TRD 10.75:1 Forged Pistons, Stage 2 Waggot Cams, and put out 140bhp.

With this motor you also get a top condition W50 gearbox.

This motor has had in excess of $5000 spent on it.

THE WEBBERS AND PISTONS HAVE NOW BEEN SOLD.

EXTRACTORS PENDING PAYMENT

Thanks,
Michaelhttp://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=getfile&id=11907

If you can't sell it complete, I reckon my brother may be interested in the air box.
In Adelaide too!

How close does it come to hitting the brake booster?

How much would you be offering for the webbers?

The Air Box doesn't hit the brake booster. It's been modified to fit.

This engine also has Pacemaker extractors, as well as a full electronic dizzy setup.

I have an Extreme racing flywheel that weighs a 1/3rd of what the orignal one does ready to go in for more acceleration.

The engine has had Slick 50 run through it after rebuild in Mid 2003.

The gearbox has had Nulon run through it.

All i want back from this is the cost of the TRD Forged Pistons, which are selling for $1500 through TRD USA.

Thanks,
Michael

Good news about the airbox clearance.

A couple more questions,
is it an original 18RG/U air box?

How much do you want for it?
My brother is a bit sick of worrying about how much dirt the Ramflo air filters let into his engine.

Yep it's an original. I'm not going to sell it off unless i have a buyer for the engine, or get offered money for the parts in the engine. I'll sell it if someone wants to offer me something decent for the 45mm Webbers.

Everything is in absolutely top condition. The gearbox is in great condition. Make us on offer on parts. If i have to split this 8000rpm revving motor to sell it, i will.

Shouldn't be too hard to find. Do you want one done up, or just a rolling shell?

8000 isn't all that high really.
My brothers 18RG does that with no probs. 110km/h in second gear always comes in handy.

I should probably mention through that there is almost no power after that point, 88231 cams sort of hit the wall around 6500.

What are the sepcs of the cams in that thing Michael?

There's the difference. This can power through up to 8. The cams open up about 4000. They are Stage 2 waggot cams. I need to find the stats on them. They are relatively mild though. Didn't want anything too over the top for everyday usage. This motor has been setup as a nice daily driver, getting around 10km/lt without any problems, but also the power is there if you want to have some fun.

Ok, the motor is now being stripped. Balanced and blue printed bottom end still available. Pistons may be sold. Webbers and manifold still available. Stage 2 Waggot cams.

Make offers on the internals, or anything you want. She's ready to pull apart, as much as it hurts me to do so.

I don't think 45mm Webbers will adapt to a standard manifold.

As far as I know the bolt patterns are the same, just a little porting to get the 45's on there.

I'd like some details on that balanced/blueprinted bottom end.
specifically, do the conrods have little squares cast into them halfway down the I beam and is it an original 18GR crank.
If the answer to both of these questions is yes, you may have found a buyer here.
This would save me doing all the same things to my engine.

What are the rod bolts? ARP?

The aribox is still available. The crank is an authentic 18-RGU crank. Will check the conrods out for you when i pull the block apart for you this weekend.

Keep in touch.

I'm sure you would do this, but could you label all the rods and everything.
Probably makes bugger-all difference but peace of mind means a lot to me.
