Hi,
I've heard from a freind you can refund your rego if you no longer drive the vehicle with the rego.
Is this true?
I'm in NSW, thinking of refunding my rego if its possible.

Yes you can cash in your rego but you have to hand in your plates, also your greenslip after doing the rego. Need to take rta papers to gslip place.

Does the tranfer fee when you first got the car affect it at all?
Because I bought this car from a family freind and was put down on the transfer slip I bought it for $150 to avoid paying more of transfer fee.
So I paid about $30 for the transfer fee.

Affect it how? I don't really understand what you're asking.
If the registration, let's say was $600. If you say you bought the car for $100 (like me) or $150 (like you) the transfer fee was $24.
If you drove the car for 6 months then I think you'd get $600/2 NOT $624.
I'm assuming.
But hey, it cost you $24, does it really matter?

No, On the transfer slip I put that I purchased the car for $150.
Then I get $600 back for the rego refund..................
A really bid difference there..
