Some may argue that the cheapest way to get an 86 to drift is to sell it and buy an s13.
Nah, its not that bad but it gets close.
As mentioned ^^^^, check the FAQ

Some many more people should argue that the best way to get am AE86 to drift IS to buy an S13. I am building my sprinter to drift atm without cutting corners at all and i could have probably bought 2 s13's by the time im done!
Plus you should be able to get $10k for your stock sprinter in a few months! That gets you well on the way to buying the S13!
Good luck with getting some "ae86driftsyle" happening anyway....
I suppose the more people out there giving it a go, whatever the car is, is a good thing....

I actually took the time to answer this question seriously once. So if you search you may find.
As for lockers, they are great... until you can afford an LSD... and if don't drive your car much on street... and if you don't mind sounding like a fool as you reverse park... and yes I still use one.
Hen
PS, yes an S13 is easier to setup to drift, but the whole cheaper thing is arguable, you still need a new LSD for them, springs and shocks, bushes etc etc etc
