MZ20 goes 11.7sec @ 116mph
|
Wed, 25 May 2005 23:55
|
|
Hey Guys, ran my Soarer last night at WSID and clocked an 11.79sec at 116mph.
60ft was a 1.75sec which is good for a full weight daily driven MZ20.
Tyres were the new Hoosier Radial which in my opinion is the best radial tyre out. Highly recomended.
Not wanting to sound like a tosser, but does this make me the quickest Soarer in OZ?
According to the Quickest 1JZ list, the JMS Soaer ran 11.7sec????
So much for 7Ms are shit........

Nice time mate
It wouldn't be the quickest soarer because of the hardcore racing soarer but it would have to be close to quickest Z20 I would think. Not too sure though.

Sort of a thread steal but sorta not. Does anyone know what Jag runs? i would think he could do better as his car is the Z10 and heaps lighter, but maybe not. Thats a good effort man. what was the RA? it should be on your slip. I can run a 17.705 in my Z10

I've never run mine at the drags... 170rwkw was taken with the half dead auto in the car and a detuned S-AFC, it'd be making 180-190 now i'd say as a guestimate with the manual and probably another 5 or 10 once the S-AFC is back. As soon as its running again reliably i'll be out there to pull some very unimpressive times

and if you think of the average age of a non-vvti 1JZ engine.... and how they hardly ever blow head gaskets...
Just think about how long yours is going to last when the HG is properly replaced and done!
Your 1J will be great!

How do you know it's the HG? I've not heard of a stockish 1jz blowing one before and am interested in cause of failure.
And why are you caning it with a blown HG if that's the issue?

It is a BHG, water in the sparkplugs, water in the oil, oil in the water...not much else it could be...
by caning it I mean I take it for a quick thrash up the street, its been off the road 4 months and now it makes double the power of my 1G, its hard to drive it without giving it a squirt

BAH!
dont bother with full comp, unless your taking a massively huge loan on the car (which isnt advisable either BTW) just get third party with fire and theft, then you can drive your nice car...if you make the right contacts getting cheap panels if you smash it arent hard...
JZZ30's are fooken nice cars, i have a JZX81 chaser coming from japan and if that werent coming then a JZZ30 would be my next choice as a tow car for my soarer

err third party fire and theft only covers up to 5k and for a 15K car thats just not enough, add to that this car would be parked at a station every day you might understand why i want full comprehensive
