just wanted to start a topic asking peoples opinions on these two fine models of celicas in comparison with each other.
remember guys there only opinions so no need to get angry
personally i find the ra23 a bit better looking, this is mainly because of the side veiw where the indicators have a vertical edge rather than being v'd towards the front. i also like the ra23 grill better.
it would help if someone could post up a few images of both (i dunno how)
feel free to comment on anythign realavent,
power, looks, accersories, weight, conversions, brakes, etc etc

Hi,
Search through the forum, in the (I think) General Section 'cos there was a similar topic not so long ago and I whacked some pics of TA22 and RA23 in the post.
I think the TA22 is better looking. I like it's flat bonnet. The biggest thing I dislike about the RA23 is the bulge in the bonnet. Some people like it and think it makes it look more agressive. I think it looks bloated and makes the front of the car fatter and less streamlined.
I find the front of each car (ie grille, parking light area) to be pleasing to the eye on both models. I prefer the TA22 grille, but I think the GT grilles of the RA23 series are the nicest. I prefer the amber indicators to be under the bumper and not built into it like the TA22, as opposed to the RA23.
I think the interior layout of the TA22 to be nicer and more fucntional and feels more "sporty". I find the TA22 steering wheel to be annoying with all those horn buttons and can see why people change it - though the GT steering wheel is totally different and quite nice.
You have a longer engine bay area in the RA23 so it is easier to put in bigger (ie 1GGTE) motors than the TA22, but then again, why would you put in anything other than the ubiquitous and delightful 18RG
In the end, I find them both great looking cars and I'd be more than happy to own either. However, if given a choice (with everyhting being equal) I'd take the TA22.
These are my personal viewpoints, based on subjectivity as opposed to objectivity.

Hypo23 would have to be my fave shape and colour, closely followed by AMV46S. The intercooler kinda spoils the front end slightly on those last ones, I like the grille that the RA23 has
All great looking cars though!
