hello all,
just wondering if the t-18 diff with a good LSD will hold up to CA18det power (looking at around 160-200kw ATW)? or am i better off going for something bigger? if so what?

i have searched, but there is limited results to do with strength.

simon is a result of a t18 t series diff with a TRD centre
he had his ca18det caining that setup for ages in drift comps ect.

and its STILL going.

the diff life has a lot to do with your style of driving.

If you are not taking it out to willobank and dumping it at 5grand on the 1/4 every weekend you should be right.

i will race it sometimes, but it should be sweet.
just one question, and this might sound stupid, but i have never blown a diff before:
if i buy a $1k LSD and blow my diff, did i blow the 1K LSD or something else? or can it be either?

Depends...you could screw the center or you could just spin the axle. Most T series diff damage I have heard/seen is twisted axles.

yep.
it is all about driving style like stated. im running the stock s series diff, hada gze for over a year and now around 200RWKW's with the turbo set up and the diff doesnt even make so much as a noise. its all about how you drive it.

if you blow the diff up, you can rebuild em.

rebuild kits only cost about 300..

and you got a brand new diff!
