f series donor vehicles? Sat, 04 June 2005 08:00 Go to next message
After looking through the forums and deliberating about a diff upgrade for quiet a while now , i had to find a live axle f series for my sprinter. last week i went to the auto auctions and had a look at the compliance plate, on the last shape of the tarago, which was stamped f292! after speaking to a wrecker these large axle diffs came out in taragos from about 87 onwards.

Suspension is irrelevant; with very few exceptions you have to use your old suspension mounting points on the new diff when doing a diff conversion. Would be useful to know width though.

these diffs are 4 link, the spring saddles are mounted to the housing, as are celicas and sprinters. lateral link is on the right axle tube as opposed to the sprinter being on the lefthand tube.the stud pattern is 4x114.3. i will look futher into width, saddle centre to centre and any relevant measurements.
