Steves ST162 - Now Sporting Rooted Gen 2 3S-GE Lack of Power Mon, 06 June 2005 11:54 Go to next message
hello everyone,

It's been a fair while since I last posted on these forums, but the time has come to once again make my presence known. Where I last left off I was in the middle of doing a gen 2 3s-ge swap before I experienced a whole lot of wiring dramas and a savage cashflow drought. But I am now proud to announce that last week my celica hit the streets of Canberra once more! It has a few bugs that still need to be ironed out but the main thing is i'll never have to drive an EA Falcon again! (touch wood).

So whats the result?

1988 ST162 Celica SX
Gen 2 3S-GE (From an imported Carina)
2 1/4 inch Cat Back exhaust
K&N Pod Filter
Microtech LT-10S

and getting run on a dyno later this month!

What do i still need to do?

Well my spark plugs are shot, and my tuner highly recomends a set of Magnecor ignition leads which I plan to do before dyno run. Steering and suspension need a serious look over too, I think new bushes all round, new shocks and tyres, a good wheel alignment and she'll be good.

I will get pics up on the weekend cos I have 4 days off and i plan to spend a lot of time fine tuning the car.

Cheers!

That's one clean engine bay! Shocked

You wouldn't be able to tell me where that intake pipe came from would ya? I'm using some random toyota one which is starting to crack - doesn't look as neat as yours tho.

I've pretty much finished my conversion btw, I think you asked in another thread? Click the link in my sig. Very Happy

Well... It's game over. Oil pump blew itself out on the highway. Im not gonna spend any more money fixing this car.

I'll probably be parting it out sometime soon...
