and incidentally I'm glad I'm not getting my blue slip done there.

guy inspects engine bay, and sees boost controller.
Him: "is that a pop-off valve?"
Me: "No, that's my boost controller. My factory plumb-back BOV is over there *points*"
Him: "Well, I guess your engineer will tell you what to do about that"

so that is a wet weight with no driver then.

I suppose that is a little porky but 1jz's aren't exactly the lightest engines.

on a side note... I recommend racer's choice at seven hills for anyone who needs custom metal work done. They're an exhaust shop by trade, but the owner is quite willing to do all the shitty little jobs that lots of other places won't touch (like getting my seats to mount properly). Cheap too!

at the ARC/QRC at Imbil on the weekend i was crewing for an MA61 (well, actually an RA65 that looked very much like an MA61) and it came in at over 1150kg at scrutineering (weighed wet with crew clothign and helmets).

Engine was 5m (converted to 6mge plus a 7mge crank, supra box, mix of ma61 & mx7X for rear suspension, front struts conv to VN coilovers & disks, commode rad, no PSteer, 2 x race seats, roll cage, very spartan interior.

ma61 = teh pork!

fast pork, but pork none the less.

I'm sure I could strip it down to 1100 or less quite easily, but I'm after a 2+2 streetable car, not a track car Smile

of course thereare heavier cars around. the headrest of Karl's crown probably weighs more than my car. My point is it was unexpectedly heavy for an ma61
