You need Toluene.
I used to be able to buy it in 500ml cans at SuperCheap but I don't know if that's still the case now.

just get a good brand of octane booster like 20 bucks a bottle though, ten bucks says they are toulene based anyway.

octane boost. it goes up enough to take it past 100. isn't it meant to be 4 points higher or something?

then what would you suggest to keep my octane level above 100, and not destroy my cat with boosters?

Even something as simple as Wynns race formula. It is supposed to take it up about 2 points.

well according to the bottles you need only one bottle ie 500ml of good octane booster to get above 100ron Very Happy 10% would be like 5L thats like 200bucks. I reckon just get the toulene, mix up a batch say 1L of BP and slowly add some toulene until you get the desired octane rating, then multiply this to the amount you need. You do have something to measure the rating otherwise you'd have no idea how high it is. That or just go to oran park they sell 102ron fuel their i think, like 2 bucks a litre or something can't remember

toluene or methylbenzene
10%= + 2.2 Octane Points

I think that 'points' is not 2 octane 'points'
ie. 98 to 100.
points are 0.1 of 1octane point.

something like that.

take 5mins to google up the info ;p
but now I goto lunch! Smile

don't know but they are called a hydrometer or something, i know this from watching the old bathurst tapes and they said the hydrometer went off the scale when they tested the fuel for the Texaco sierra's.

well desolve moth balls that have toulene in them you have your toulene, that or hit supercheap and ask the for some. Then search the net to try and find out where to buy an octane reader. Cos even adding a little bit you may be raising the octane more than you think and you don't wanna blow it up now do you.

"A mixture of 10% ethanol and 90% unleaded petrol can be used in your vehicle"

"Fuel ethanol is a high-octane, water free alcohol produced from the fermentation of sugar or converted starch. It is traditionally used as a blending ingredient at 5%-10% concentrations in petroleum (gasoline) or as a raw material to produce high-octane fuel ether additives. Ethanol is made primarily from grains or other renewable agricultural and agroforestry feedstocks"

I thought ethanol was bad for our engines, ie, it eays at the allow etc etc....

moth balls Laughing ,

ay i resent that... lol
joke
haha but the thing is the mth balls actually work!!!! well works on mower engien n whipper snipper mini bikes etc... we had a 1.25litre bottle stuck 1 moth ball in even though the reconmended ratio is 5:1 5moth to 1 gallon. ne who mixed the single moth with the 1.25litr bottle of fuel and mi in enough oil in it too run in the 2 stroek whipper n the little thing pulled up hill like there was no tomorrow.. i kid u not!

ne way that wont get ur high octane stuff
