not sure if this should be in tech or general so if mods want to move feel free.

was just wondering if anyone has the part number for the part of the window winder that holds the glass in place, and if toyota still stock them for a ae82, it is just a rail with a rubber lining im sure some people know what it is im talking about.
would this part be similar in most cars or would the size be different?

I know the bit you mean but can't remeber what it's called.
I'm guessing yours has rusted away like they all do and Toyota should still stock them.I had to get one a while ago and it was only about $40 new so not to pricey.

Just a real bitch to fit, lots of soap and a rubber mallet did the trick though.

you mean the bit that holds the glass up from the bottom? mines rusted away heaps too. well, the back right one has, dont know about the others, but they're probably the same. the rubber guides on the sides of the glass was sticking on mine, and i fixed it, but one guy wound it down, and the glass fell out of that supporting bit again, so i fixed it again and took the handle off Laughing

yeah you all are right it is just a little channel sorta thing with rubber that holds the bottom of the window. driving someone home after a party the other night and he went to wind the window down and it just dropped, had a look today and the thing is bent out of shape due to the rust, i can pull the rust of in big clumps:?

will try the toyota dealer around the corner tomorrow.

edit: problem fixed got the parts from toyota, was $32.21 for the channel, and $20.28 for the channel rubber.
part numbers are 6990212102 for the channel
and 6997112070 for the rubber just incase anyone else needs them
