i have a 3sge gen1 block and a 3sgte gen2 block and i need to fit a dipstick to the GE block. ok simple enough but, the gte block has a holder and o-ring and the ge doesen't? so can i take the holder out of the gte block? how? or is there a different set up on the GE? its for a rwd engine. help Razz

I blocked off the hole in the block and fitted the dip stick to teh sump. Otherwise its just in the way on the block when in RWD format.

interesting, does it still read oil levels allright? what problem did you run into with yours in the first place?

Original problem was it interfearing with the engine mount and turbo. And yes it still reads perfect.
