TA 22 Instrument panel Fri, 17 June 2005 01:36 Go to next message
Just starting fix up my 71 TA22. I have had it so long I can't seem to part with it, about 20 years. Needs some TLC but overall not to bad. Need to think about seats and what to do with the motor without replacing it and supension etc. But my issue today is will an instrument panel from a 74 celica fit in my 71. Reason being is that mine is in miles and I keep forgetting and getting booked. Plus mine has a whole in it where the previous own (the original 20 year ago) cut out part to fit in a bigger radio.

AFAIK all that is actually different is the speed increments on the background, you could still keep the same instrument cluster and replace the backing if you wanted Smile

they made ta22's in 76?

news to me.

mines kmph, and ive spent a few minutes pulling it out
theres a screw on the bottome of the cluster, right above the steering column.

sometimes i think satan himself designed this car.

and worst of all

theres two screws, BEHIND the cluster, facing towards the firewall, i gave up n went inside Sad

good luck!

If you mean the ones near the heater/fan controls, there's actually four of those bastards, and bastards they are!
