xbox can emulate gameboy, nes, supernes, sega megadrive, n64, ps1, arcade games and a few other simple consoles but not ps2! ps2 architecture is completely different and i doubt it will ever be emulated on xbox.

The xbox has a harddrive and I'm assuming that when you say it can emulate these consoles it's just using one of the ready made emulators on the xbox platform. Nobody has been able to emulate PS2 yet. I think FFX works a little but for the most part, games just load the intro screen and that's about it.

i was told by a friend that in Hong Kong they had a mod for xbox to play PS2 games. That's the only reason i asked. Apparently he told me this was why the xbox is so popular over there

yep mine can play PS2 games aswell, modded with EVO X dashboard with 200GB Maxtor HDD. Not saying that 187_20v's will defnately play PS2 games, but it is possible to play PS2 games on XBOX

gt2, gran turismo 2 is a ps1 game. i have played quite a few ps1 games on xbox, havent setup any network yet but hopefully soon:) multiplayer will be awesome. just been playing doom 3, and doom2 / ultimate which came with it too, mad old skool fun.
the ps2 games are as my previous post
