whats the sensor on the oil filter side of a 3t-gteu Tue, 14 June 2005 18:12 Go to next message
hey, just cleaning the 3t-gteu block and would like the know what the sensor that is just above the oil filter. It's in a bolt hole?

Also can anyone get me clear pics of either side of the block or a diagram of where everything goes.

I can be corrected on this, but the theory says the T series blocks are the same (2T... and 3T... after a certain date). So it might be the oil light sensor as is on my 2TGEU (a mid 1980's build). If you have a oil temp gauge as a factory aoption, it 'might' be the pickup for that. But my guess would be something related to oil pressure.

I'm only speculating so don't bite my head off if this is incorrect!

the thing is that the sensor had the original cap sitting on it so it wasn't being used.
