I'm not interested in buying the car but I can offer some advice on why it may not be revving properly. Check all your vacum lines and the 'one way valves' also your vacum advance on the distributor.

cheers for the advice bunky t18, have you worked on cordia's before? or is that general advice for all cars? i have NEVER worked on cordias before and im stumped. Have you had experiance with cordia's?
The car will idle fine but will not rev past 1200 AT ALL, not on half throttle full throttle nothing. I havent seen the tacho ever go past 1200
Cheers for any help though, much appreciated
Dragoncypher sorry buddy the mk3 supra is most definantly NOT for sale. I think i will be buried in that beast.

Hey Wildsupra,
I have had too much experience with the ol cordias lol. I have had the same problems with a few of them in the past. I break the rev problem down into the following areas;
Incorrect connection of vacum lines and 'oneway' valves (technically they are actually restriction valves) I have the correct vacum lines setup diagram if you need it. It's also on the cordiapower site.
Incorrect Throttle Position Sensor setting. Not hard to fix.
Faulty knock control sensor, again not hard to fix. It's the most common problem with cordias, it's like you give it some revs and the sensor freaks cos it's sick and thinks 'oh no massif detonation!'
Rooted vacum advance on the distributor. Again no big deal.
Give me a pm if you want any more info as I have a fair bit of good info translated from the Jap factory manuals.
Another good resource is http://www.cordiapower.com/
The cordia is a great car but would be greater if only:
It was rear wheel drive.
It was a toyota.
Have a search through the cordiapower forums.
Cheers
Adam

Hey,
I've had three Cordias, yes you should check Cordiapower.com. There is heaps of info there.
It sounds to me like it might be a timing problem (too far retarded) or the TPS. It is more likely to be the timing because when the TPS is out on a Cordia it usually just revs up high and stays there.
