the power gain is pointless and money doesn't grow on trees

Yeah, 40hp is useless isn't it
Anyway, a 2ZZ-GE head/ecu/loom will cost a fortune.
Forget the idea.

The 1ZZ also has a longer stroke and smaller bore than the 2ZZ so I don't know if the valves will fit in the bore and also if the 1ZZ bottom end will stand up to the revs needed to make the power with the GE head.

Hey my mum has a 2004 model sedan. Pretty pokey little motor eh? Easily blows away my stock 2.2L camry.
The motor in the Celica has 40 more hp? cool, are the bottom ends the same between the two motors?
If anyone knows stats about the ZZ series engines please let me know just for the sake that I've got access to one of these engines.
I've been told that a supercharged version is on the books, maybe you should start saving up and get ready for a trade in.
Anyway mate if you are after power gains try to work out what is the cheapest by looking at power gain / cost.
good luck (pity its not an awd configuration)

isn't the differnce between a 2ZZ-GE and 1ZZ-FE around forty kw not hp?
My understanding is that the 1ZZ-FE makes 100kw and 184Nm and the 2ZZ-GE makes around 144-147kw
That would be a differnce of about 70hp

107kW vs 135kW (US version, according to PDF I linked to earlier)
or 143hp vs 180hp

School Holidays have just started in NSW.
That explains this.
Oz delivered Corolla/Celica
1ZZ-FE = 100 Kw/171 Nm
2ZZ-GE = 141 Kw/180 Nm
As above:
Heads cannot be swapped cause blocks are different.
Save up for a Sportivo Rolla or Celica or trade in the Levin.
