Floating in the petrol tank Sat, 02 July 2005 07:19 Go to next message
I recently let my brother borrow my ta22 and as it was low on petrol he decided to fill it up. Apparently he went to put the valve protector stuff in and somehow the whole bottle fell in the tank. Mad

Now I can hear the bloody thing bobbing around in the back and am scared if I don't remove it soon something bad could happen. It looks like I might be able to get into the tank without having to remove it through some screwed-on lid located on the top right hand side of the tank.

Only problem is that I'm a bit sketchy mucking around with petrol/petrol fumes coz I've heard some bad stories about things going wrong. So I'm considering taking it to someone else to do it and getting my bro to pay for it. Does anyone know of any good places in Sydney that would be able to handle this? Alternatively, what should I do to remove it myself?

Thanks,
Justin

Why would you be putting valve saver in it to begin with?

As for getting it out, does the filler-neck disconnect somehow? I can't remember...

Should be able to take off the tank, peek inside and try to fish it out.

Just don't have a cigga while you're doing that.
