just bought a 1j twin turbo powered jzz30 soarer
lookin to change the turbos.. now i know the standard size is 2 ct12, my question is how well would 2 ct26 fit? would this be possible without to much screwin around? ideally i would love to do a large single conversion but thats abit outside my price range atm. your thought and past technical experience would be greatly appreciated

get a dump pipe, good exhaust and wind up the boost to 15 psi, good for 300+ rwhp in a manual.[stock turbos]
regardind twins ,there is no CHEAP easy fix.steel wheeled ct12a's or HKS t3's all run into dollars.use the Search function for plenty of info.look at the for sale mechanical section for the aforementioned turbos.Cheers.Pete.

Yep,some say they can run 17psi for long periods but 15 is a figure most agree is safe.A good exhaust and dump pipes also helps the turbos last due to less back pressure and heat.Cheers.Pete.

Mine have been running 15 PSI for ages, not sure on the exact time, but plenty long enough. The rear one is still holding togeather, and that's the first that will go in 1J's.

Is it possible to put the CT26 + manafold from the VVTI 1J on the non VVTI 1j?

That was asked not very long ago and I think the answer was no, due to different exhaust ports?

It's not really going to be worth it for a 2xCT26 conversion... going past stock turbos you're going to need new injectors, which is going to mean a new tune. once you consider the manifold and piping costs, the actual turbos themselves are only a part of the conversion cost Smile

stick with the stockies for an easy 220rwkw (or stretch it to 250 if that's all you're ever going to want), much more than that and it's single turbo time.

or twin gt28r's 350 - 400KW at the treads is possible.

For every action there is a reaction. Never forget that!

Stock route is nice.

The VVTi 1JZ uses a CT15B, not a CT26. The manifolds are not interchangeable either due to different head/port design as already mentioned.
