I spoke to him a few weeks ago, and they had none in stock and it was going to be a while till any more were ready - if you hear from him, could you let me know? I'd love to chuck in an order for 1 more Smile

They're signal converters that allow you to use your older-style analog tacho with the digital signal from a modern ECU.

I see. Is it a real digital signal or just a low pulse like from a 4A-GZE igniter for example?

From what I understand it's a square wave signal, which equals digital yes?

i make my own tacho boosters which will do 90% of toyotas and most microtechs

but for nissan rbs into vls i use grants tacho boosters
i have 1 or 2 left

at moment im looking for someone who knows about this sort of stuff to make me some devices the way i want them to be made

i needs afew things made up and the guys making them have stopped making them

so all i can do is find other manufactures if they cant help me anymore

basically the proper rpm signal from nissan and toyota engines is very weak and the tacho booster amplifies this signal into something the factory tacho in older cars can read

I need one of these tacho boosters too, no hurry as the SAFC makes a great tacho, but I have to look down and take my eyes off the road to read the damn thing. Might wait till their site comes back up. Are they easy to put in yourself?

I had a dispute with the hosting provider so didn't pay for another 12 months and haven't had time to organise anything else.

Still doing boosters but my supplier is away so won't have any of the 1J type for a few weeks. Best to get one of Jim.

Jim, my email is sixworks@optusnet.com.au.

Jim, since you did the 20V conversion into my Sprinter I've put in a CA turbo. Do I need one of these boosters for the stock CA ECU to run the stock Sprinter tacho? I suspect I might because if I hook it up the tacho needle moves up a bit but then returns to 0. What was the gadget you put in for the Microtech to run the tacho? Was that different i.e. to run the single input tacho off the quad coils?

Cheers,

Jeremy.

the one i fitted on the microtech is the booster i make

im not sure if this one will work with a ca18t

as they have a very weak signal

but i have 3 diff types of boosters price ranges from 50 to 150 dollars so i usually just try them all to see which ones work

u can try the one i fitted to microtech and see how it goes

otherwise i can come and try the other ones
