Whats the best engine to put into my RA-65 celica

i need a new engien to put into my RA-65 celica. i currently have a 22R-E engine. i wasnt more power and a turbo this is becasue one of my friends went out and bought a 95 celica so now i want to beat it  . whats your thought on an engine?

Yep he is right !
i drive one and it is awesome.
and best of all it's only a 2 litre so u still get good fuel usage.

I'd stick a 3S-GTE in there, but it's a little bit messy/painful

will that bolt right in? i was thinking of an 4A-GZE but take the suer charger off and put a turbo on.

Bang for buck, 1GGTE will rock.
Mucho money spent, 3SGTE will blow you away.
4AGTE will make you wonder why you spent your money. Car is too heavy for it.
1UZFE will be fun fun fun.

What about a 1GGZE?
They would have a bit more oomph down low than the GTE, wouldn't it?

The RA65 is light enough to live with the off-boost torque of a 1GGTE and not really be worried.

yes that would be the most simple engine conversion to do on an RA65 but they are becomming hard to come by now  . a half cut of a TA63 or simlar would have been good to buy and just swap everything over but i dont rekon you could still find a 3TGTE half cut anymore, about 10 years ago they would have been plentyful.

or you could just uses a corona front cut aka tt142 as they are excatly the same in the frontal region as the rona, but why not go the 1ggte it'd be much better in the long run as its a much newer engine, better potential me says and more torque and more displacement.
