yeah, heard of that one before, they built this 350z like mad and tried to get over 300kmph, but a tyre failure caused him to stop but only managed to slow to 180km i think,
they have a new one now and tried it again, and again the tyre failed at high speed, though he didnt crash this time. the driver is an aging Japanese man that owns a tuning house and the tyres used were Pirelli P Zero's (Rosso's I think) good clip none the less

i think it was in the 260-270km/h hr region

Thats on the OPTION dvd vol 116 i think
Thankfully it had a roll cage. You would have to have a death wish to do them sorts of speeds without one though
