Alloy W58 From Adelaide Jap Tue, 05 July 2005 00:53 Go to next message
Hey i was just wondering if the alloy W58 from http://www.adelaidejap.com.au/accessories.htm

would be good with a different bell housing for a 4AGTE?

They are $550.

They are a tad expensive. On ebay, Option 1 has had some for $440 each, and there are often others that are a similar price.

Adelaide Jap tend to be expensive, and freight to Tassie would be a killer too.

Can't get one locally or in Melb ?

Cheers

Try Option 1 on the web, and yep to 400hp, but it depends on your driving style. Torque is nmore of a killer than outright power.

It will be a drifter, and running probally 300hp at fly with a GT28RS, wouldnt have a clue about torque.

Ian do you need 300hp?

thats the real question...

W55 should be fine behind a more sensible motor

stick with 150-160rwkw that will be plenty of power to smoke 3rd in a KE70

i was thinking 300hp at the fly is going to be about 150rwkW, i dont really want to go over 150rwkW because A i cant drive and B i dont want to kill the engine straight away.

You'd have to try pretty hard to break a W5x box with a 4A, turbo or not.

The price is about right if it has a steel sandwich plate (stronger and more desireable), but way too expensive if it's an alloy sandwich plate. You can grab one of those out of an RA60 Celica for $300 or so at just about any wrecker.
