hey slocress,recent sales show-
a good r154 without a bell $1000
a 1j bell for r154 250-300 [some show fractures]
a flywheel 1j r154 200-300
the other parts ie clutch fork and collars etc that pull the clutch can be hard to find so also have some value.
Mate,I am unsure but that shifter assy looks like soarer to me?I am almost certain that jza70 shifter is not extended back like that.I believe the shifters are interchangeable but as it is [without repair] you might find offers low.
People in a hurry have sold the whole kit for cosiderably less than the above but that is not normal.Best of luck!

I just bought one (complete with bell housing etc) from Japanese Motorsport for $1500 with 30 day warranty. Lucky to, as I need to send it back as it had a spun bearing....

Manny, does the Soarer shifter have a kink in it...

Sorry, that should of read "needed to send back". I have already got the replacement box. Spoke to them 1 week ago, certainly sounded like they were still open to me....

Their web site http://www.japanesemotorsport.com.au/ is still operating... the plot thickens...

My point was that $1500 is the price for a box with warranty, so maybe $2000 is a little much. But all the best of luck...

That would be a box from a JZX100 with the remote shifter like that. JZZ30 has an integrated shifter housing that sits to the rear of the box, the JZA70 has the same type of integrated shifter but sits above the box.

Someone with an auto JZA80 that cant afford a 6 speed assembly would be able to make use of this box without much hassle.

Yes, JMS down.

Reasons and Contributing factors Rex will not go into.

Yep, after having to look at buying in an R154, you dont realise how cheap $1500 really is.

Re: f/s jzx70 r154 complete Mon, 11 July 2005 10:39 Go to previous messageGo to next message
That's the remote shifter setup found on '94 onwards X30 Soarers and all Chasers. Identical to the W58 remote shifter setup on NA MKIV Supras.

The early '91 to '93 Z30 Soarers and A70 Supras had a more conventional shifter going directly into the top rear of the output housing on the box.

The donor engine having a front sump IDs it as a JZX90 onwards Chaser.
This is rarer and more valuable than the earlier JZ R154 as it will fit any Z30 Soarer, JZA70/JZA80Supra or JZX90/JZX100/JZX110 Chaser as well as generally being in better condition internally.

will fit series 30soarer,80supra,which chasers ? Confused
and these shifter sections are interchangable?
so one box fits all but shifter sections vary?[not to mention bellhousings]
Sorry for intruding on the sale but this info may help potential buyers. Smile

So what else needs fixing to get it up and running? Looks like it comes with most parts needed for a conversion? I'm interested.

JZX90/JZX100/JZX110 Chasers have the remote shifter setup

Yes, bolt in/bolt out with the correct replacement parts

petespipes wrote on Tue, 12 July 2005 02:19

Yes. All JZ bellhousings are identical and will bolt up to any 1/JZ-GE/GTE engine
