1GGTE sump for sprinter Thu, 14 July 2005 10:59 Go to next message
I have searched for a definite answer to this question to no avail. Short of making up a custom sump, which sump do I use for a 1GGTE conversion into a sprinter. The engine is out of a 1990 GA70, and I am assuming from all the information I have found, that it is a mid-rear one.

reading all the posts on converting old school celica's to R&P steering using an AE86 or KE70 crossember would tell me the crossmember leans to the back.
thus you would need a front sump to clear the crossmember.
just a thought, flame me if i'm wrong

Thanks, will have a look. The sway bar runs very close under the front of the engine, so I need to leave room for the bar there.

Was in the process of making a new sump anyway, thought someone may know of an easier way. Thanks for the info
