HELP!!! Fri, 15 July 2005 00:18 Go to next message
Has anyone ever gone to start their auto 7m-gte (in an MZ21 in this case) in the morning and nothing happen??? I tried to go to werk yesterday morning, turned off the immobiliser and turned the key, the lights on the dash came up but the car didnt do anything! Embarassed

There is a clicking noise coming from over near the battery somewhere but i cant see it when i am tryin to turn the key. The battery isnt flat coz i have had it on the charger since and tested it and the battery is fine.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anyway to get it going jus to get to an auto lecy or something? Any help would be most appreciated Smile

Sounds like your starter motor. Try tapping it with a hammer - just don't bash it.

Its usually either that or the battery. Mine started clicking and then eventually died. I pulled mine apart and made new brass bushings for it because the old ones were r00ted and didn't contact properly anymore

its been fine ever since!

Depends how mechanically minded you are Very Happy

Take it off, pull it apart and you should be able to diagnose thr problem. My guess is the trashed brass bushes... they're a common problem apparently
