yeah i got the loom apart atm just to move things around.
with the rwd manifold.
i am using throttle body of a fwd bigport manifold so that should work correctly.
the TPS has the correct plug on it to use the GZE loom.

il takes some pics this afternoon.
but with the gze it was always on the exhaust side so thats how all my lines are already setup.
i guess because there was more room on the exhaust side compared to the inlet side with the gze,
il post a pic of how it was with the gze and how it is atm. when i get home from work, later.

i cant quite make out how much room you have but my thoughts are to make a custom air box inclosure behind the right hand side headlight sealed against the bodywork with some ducting from the front bumper somewhere you could have the afm mounted straight onto the turbo and then a 90 deg bend to the airbox.
also looking at the size of your snout the afm may well be a restriction they are quite small in diameter.
you just have to make sure the afm is mounted in a way so that the flap inside dosent get held shut by gravity because it wont start

hey,
they way of mounting the thermostat on the inlet side looks heaps neater!!
with the air flow meter problem.. i still have no idea, i mounted the meter straight on the turbo but it has barely any room in front of it for anything..
il work it out..
and the dump pipe is being made up this week, so next week it will be started..
but then i gotta wait until the end of July to get rego, damn monthly pay
hahaha
thanks guys

Thats what credit cards are for
Definately go the thermostat on the inlet side, its heaps neater, and away from all the heat of the turbo, manifold & dump pipe!

another way to do might be 2 create a pipe that has a 90deg right bend comming off the turbo then the pipe would go infront of the engine to the inlet side of the engine bay where you could locate your pod filter.. somewhere along the way you could mount the afm. you might have to extend the wires for the loom to stretch further away

I reckon moving the thermostat to the intake side is a good idea. Would be neater and away from the hot turbo.

ok,
yeah i have decided moving the thermostat is DEFINATLY the best idea.
absolutley no room for it on the exhaust side,
so next question is how did everyong run the bottom radiator hose?? along in front of the engine??
i have the standard radiator tanks so the bottom pipe come out on the exhaust side.
and i notice that the tube coming off the back of the water pump has been shortened, this is better? more space?? and the water lines i have should be long enough to still get to the turbo, they were actualy too long keeping the thermostat where it is.
also i think for now, because i have already modified the loom to go have the air flow meter on the exhaust side, i will be putting some fine filter over the air meter intake, in my ming this shouldnt make any difference on air intake. will be a temp solution until i get aftermarket ecu.
and so after i move the water lines i'm done.
cant wait to drive it!

hmm,
thinking about it like that, it would be a lot neater..
my bad,
ahh this may seem bad, but i dont know where the coolant drain is, is it the vent fitting to the right of the oil pressure sendor??
that would make the water feed sooo easy!!
umm brass can be soldered to brass, yes??
because i already have 1/4" brass fittings and braided line, whick i got from work.
so if the coolant drain is what i'm thinking of, i get one line shortened run this line straight to turbo, then the other one straight to the top of the radiator. easy as piss.
ahh if only i had another parson 4AGTE to look at when i work on my car..
hahaha
thanks heaps Phil!!

All too easy mate.
Yep, its the brass fitting immediately to the right of the oil pressure sender.
Your radiator shop should have all manner of different fittings suitable for soldering onto your radiator tanks. They use them all the time for transmission coolers, aircon, etc. When you say you have 1/4 inch brass fittings, are you referring to 1/4 inch thread (which is not actually 1/4" diameter at all), or 1/4 inch hose fitting? If its the hose size, then thats pretty small

ok, update.
i have had the radiator outlet modified,
and i have completly moved the thermostat to the inlet side under the alternater, (whick i also moved to the inlet side)
and i also had the water return from the turbo plumbed into the top of the radiator,
and i have tidied my loom up now just gotta finish it off.
tomorow i am bolting everything back on ready to go to the exhaust shop.
so everything seems to be going along well, and i'm getting the exhaust done next week, and will have it back on the road when i get my rego paid on the 20th of this month.
thanks

hey all,
didnt have very good day today as i expected to....
today was supposed to be the finish of the 4AGTE conversion but as is to be expected more problems arised!!!!
main problem:
stuffed starter motor/solenoid, so i cant start it any way..
other problems:
1) forgot to tighten nuts on back of water pump - fixed within a few minutes
2) forgot to tighten clamp on heater hose - fixed within a few seconds
these two issues resulted in a little bit of lost coolant and a little mess.
3) fuel pump wasnt coming on - jumpered pump to 12v and proved it still works, have to rewire properly. to it tomorrow.
4) while trying to bridge starter/solenoid to test shorted 12v to braided water line, reuslting in arcing and a stuffed water line, therefore removing the option of a clutch start.
on a good note the dump does look good. and it only cost $150 very nice job, thankyou WEST SIDE EXHAUST, will be going back there to get whole exhaust done.
so tomorrow i will be heading to repco to get new starter motor, and then cleaning up wires and interior to make everything nice and neat.
then monday i will be heading to mechanic for pink slip check at 11am this is after replacing broken water line and lost coolant.
then on wednesday i will pay for greenslip and rego at RTA then its back on the road!! yay!!!
will post in members rides with pics of everything once its all done!
thanks
James
