clutch wear? Sun, 17 July 2005 10:39 Go to next message
Just a quick question about clutch wear. I am finding that the take up point on my FWD clutch is very close to the top of the clutch pedal's travel. Is this a sign that the clutch is worn and will soon need replacing? I'm planning a bit of a road trip into an area where there won't be any replacements close to hand and don't want to suffer from a breakdown that was obviously coming.
I haven't noticed any slippage in the clutch but it has been getting a bit of a hard time recently as I've been teaching my girlfriend how to drive a manual. I haven't noticed any significant changes but am concerned all the same.

If it feels different, and you're not sure about it, get someone who knows about this kind of stuff to take the car for a drive for you.

There is an adjustment for the clutch pedal, usually under the dash up in the foot well. But if the pedal travel is getting longer each time you use it , id be looking else where...bleeding or mechanic
