18RG into KE20 Mon, 20 January 2003 00:56 Go to next message
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about putting a 18RG into my KE20.
Has anyone done this??
Will a W50 fit in the tunnel with out mods??

The idea behind a 18RG is that seeing as its 1968cc i can turbo it and still be within the limits for capacity for forced induction on a KE20
(790kgs x 2.5 = 1975cc)

Other wise the plan was/is to go 4AGE.

Suggestions?

thanks,

CamZH

the 4age would be alot lighter... it would definatly be alot better when it comes to building a car that it more controllable

I'm slowly putting an 18rg in my ke36 so far i'm going to need custom mounts, relocate the radiator, custom air box coz of the brake booster (I cant remember if the ke20s have the booster so you might not need to warry about this), a celica yolk? ( the bit the connects the drive line to the gearbox), maybe custom extractors and a different sump to clear the crossmember. But once its done it will b worth it

I reckon an 18R-G would be a bit of a squeeze, and yes it will upset the car's balance as they're pretty heavy engines. Have you considered a 2T-G instead? Build yourself a TE27 Levin replica. Smile

790kg * 2.5 =1975. be sure to check that this doesnt increase your capacity. I know in circut racing a 2 litre car with turbo will tip you well over the 1975 allowed. if this relates to street I'm not sure. Go the 4age or I do have a 2tg & gearbox that came straightout of a ke20, bolt in
