I thought about it for a few days before i decided that the movie was shit.
The story line does not follow, and they also mixed and combined characters. The characters did not play their proper roles. The only character who i thought did a reasonable job was moggie.
The rest of the characters were played like shit, bunta was never a drunk, and he never bashed takumi. Nor did bunta ever show takumi the exit gutter techinque.
Also takumi was not dopey enough, he talked too much. They also completely spoiled it at the start showing that he was driving the 86. And when he was driving the 85 he never said some shit like 'The car feels like its goign to roll, but im doign it anyway because i am pissed'. It completely spoiled it for me.
I can go on and go. As a avid initial d fan i would fail the the movie.
PS: gotta love the plastic barracades and also the evo crash, i mean WTF the evos never crashed. The S13,R32,civic and miata did. But even when they did crash non of them flew off one side of the cliff onto the next. I mean WTF.
FAIL.
PSS: It would of been better in japanese.
FAIL.
ok ill stop raunting.
EDIT: Dont get me wrong though, i understand there is only so much you can do in a few hours. But still, i would of prefered it if they actually stuck to the story line and played the characters propely.
