1J factory metal turbo flange gaskets-always 2 a side? Tue, 19 July 2005 03:05 Go to next message
Hi,I am looking for confirmation that it is always 2 metal gaskets a side between the stock Y dump and the ct12a turbo.I would like to get at least 10 confirms on this so I can lay the matter to rest for all time.
If it is proven that it is a varying number of gaskets then I will be trying to understand why?
Thanks in advance,if you know which car and year the 1J was from that would be good also.Cheers.Pete. Smile

Single metal gasket between my stock cast dump and each turbo.
ie. one per side.

Never seen a setup with 2 gaskets per side if I understand your post properly.

thanks guys, this confirms what I heard from Camo although I personally have only seen 2 ea side. This must be Toyotas way of allowing for small variations in the various castings.
2x3into 1 exhaust manifolds
2 turbos
1 Y dump pipe
The flange gaskets seem to be the only variable, all the other components being the same regardless of car model using the pair of ct12a's.Cheers.Pete.
