Victorian personalised number plates....how do I get one?

I am thinking about getting personalised number plates on my car and have moved from NSW and spent some time at the RTA website looking at how you can see if number plates are available or not. I was wondering if Victoria has a website like this? I have a few plates in mind but want to see if they are available or not before I go to get it.

Just rock up at Vicroads in Burwood and get on one of their touchscreens. Last time I looked, the website wasn't very helpful.

Just curious, how much do they charge for custom number plates in Victoria? Cos its in NSW its ridiculously expensive and increases each year!

Yeah thats what I'm wanting to find out Toy_Boy....EVERYONE here seems to have a personalised plate...even on shotty old cars so it must be cheaper. I made some very cool and available NSW ones but at $350 a year on going it's not at all worth it.
Although I should get them and sell them.
I rememebr I typed in "DRIFTR" and it was avaliable ages ago...was for about 6 months and then it became taken....few weeks later saw it in the Sydney Morning Herald for sale for $10,000. That made me angry!

you pay a once off fee of $300 - $400 (some plates cost more).

vicroads dont have a www for searching pages .. I just went into the office and asked -
costs range between 300 - 600 dollars depending on what you want letter/colour/style combo's

just on the " driftr" plates
You might as well have " Dikhed" on the plates cause every ricer loser and wanker would try to take yyou on and youd be labeled a hoon ..
subtle ones work the best - keeps attention away from you ..
