shit ppl making it, not enough active ingredient, detonator didn't reach flash point of said material etc etc. maybe designed to just scare the brits, maybe it wasn't terrorists per se but dick head sympathiser groups that are amateurs and have NFI with explosives.

Detonator might have been some small explosive device, like a blasting cap. That is suppose to ignite the bigger bomb, but the bomb didn't go off.

i imagine a detenator as a little spark kinda thing. dont understand what they mean on the news by "the detenator exploded but the bomb didnt".
does this mean the the "detenator" is a mini bomb?? coz the way i look at it, its either the bomb goes off or not. if bomb didnt explode theres no explosion at all.
