hey ppls just put a steel head gasket into 7m-gte, did everything properly etc.. set up timing according to tech manual but the car is running like a hairy goat.. i havn't got on boost yet coz still running it in but down low it feels really sluggish, feels like clutch slip, the revs are there but the car aint accelerating (its not the clutch)..
any help would be appreciated.. cheers

did you do the timing 180 degrees out? Smile
checked it with a timing light?

other thing that can cause similar symptoms (tho usually not that severe) is a vac hose not connected - double check that.

yeah i checked with timing light, its all good.. normally with vacuum hoses it starts to run really rich and almost stall.. had that before, it seems to be something else.. i will double check all hoses anyway, cheers mate

My car had similar symptoms when I wired up the cam sensor the wrong way around... but I don't know if the 7m even uses a cam sensor.

(I'm just throwing in whatever could cause those symptoms, I'm kinda stumped)

Cam belt off by a tooth? Check and double-check, it's a bitch to get it right!

yeah its got a cam angle sensor, i lined it up like it said might have gotten it wrong though.. timing belt seems ok.. will have to check it all again... i love dealing with the timing Mad Mad Mad
